ARDEX D 16 is a white, premixed mastic adhesive that meets or exceeds ANSI A136.1 Type 1 & 2 standards. It is designed for interior applications and offers dependable bonding across a variety of common substrates.

  • Ready-to-use formula: No mixing required—open the pail and get to work
  • Interior applications: Suitable for walls, floors, and countertops
  • Tile compatibility: Designed for quarry, ceramic, mosaic, and moisture-insensitive stone tile
  • Porcelain tile use: Can be used over absorbent interior substrates
  • Substrate compatibility: Concrete, concrete block, drywall, plaster, brick, and existing tile
  • Tub surround approved: Suitable for intermittent wet areas
  • Good sag resistance: Supports wall tile up to 12" x 12"
  • Working time: Approx. 60 minutes open time depending on conditions
  • Grout timing: Walls after 24 hours; floors after 48 hours
  • Freeze-thaw stable: Stable to 10°F (-12°C) with proper storage
  • Low odor / low VOC: Easy to work with in interior environments
  • Coverage: Up to 175 sq. ft. per 3.5-gallon pail depending on trowel size

It can also be used to set porcelain tile over absorbent interior substrates. Suitable for use over interior concrete, concrete block, drywall, plaster, brick, and existing tile. ARDEX D 16™ is easy to apply, offers excellent sag resistance for wall installations, and can be used for tub surrounds and other intermittent wet areas.
