Grout Floats

Grout Floats

Tilers strive for perfection. Tiles are important, but the grout float is the key to beautiful grout lines. The grout float, sometimes overlooked, is vital for tiling. A grout float spreads grout between tiles. It has a flat, rectangular, or square rubber, foam, or other sturdy foundation. A comfortable handle secures the base for application. Grout floats apply grout between tiles. They evenly distribute grout, filling all gaps. Tiles are left with gaps or joints to allow for expansion and contraction. Grout floats fill these joints with grout, cementing the tiles and creating a smooth surface. Excess grout may collect on tiles after grouting. Grout floats can clean and polish these lines. Tilers can mold and smooth grout with grout floats. Tilers can create flat, flush, concave, or rounded grout lines by altering angle and pressure.
