Pro tip: Place bases within a couple of inches of each corner and along long edges where lippage shows most, and spin the cap just until the tiles pull flush — over-tightening can float a tile proud. Once the adhesive has cured, knock the caps off parallel to the joint so the base snaps cleanly below the surface.
