The DiStar Scalpel earns its name with the thinnest diamond layer of any blade in the dry-cutting range — just 0.9 mm. That ultra-fine kerf delivers surgical, chip-free precision on ceramic tile and porcelain gres, even on delicate and decorative surfaces where a heavier blade would crack or chip.

At 4" it's a detail and cutout specialist. It's designed for dry cutting and wet-capable when you need it, running on a standard 5/8"-11 angle grinder.

DiStar Scalpel 4" Diamond Blade — Surgical-Precision Detail Cutting

Some cuts are about control, not power: flush plate openings, electrical-box cutouts, decorative inlays, and the tight detail work where one chip ruins an expensive piece. The Scalpel's 0.9 mm layer is the thinnest dry-cutting disc DiStar makes, and that minimal kerf is exactly what lets it cut delicate and decorative materials cleanly, with almost nothing left to finish afterward.

The compact 4" diameter improves control in tight spaces and reduces the material a larger blade would have to fight through. Run it dry for quick jobsite work, or wet when you want the cleanest possible edge on the most fragile surfaces — a versatile detail blade for precision cuts that have to look right.

Why Tile Pros Choose It

  • Thinnest dry-cut layer: The 0.9 mm kerf cuts with minimal force for chip-free precision.
  • Detail specialist: Built for cutouts, plate openings, and tight-radius work.
  • Dry, wet-capable: Run it dry for speed or wet for the cleanest edge on delicate tile.
  • Gentle on fragile tile: Cuts decorative and delicate surfaces without cracking.
  • Compact control: The 4" diameter improves accuracy in tight spaces.
  • Clean finish: Leaves edges that usually need little or no post-cut work.

Usage tip: Let the thin kerf guide itself — light pressure and a steady hand give the cleanest detail cuts. For the most delicate decorative tile, cut wet.
