A patent-pending adjustment ring, grate riser, and temporary install plate give you precise height and a flat mosaic transition — so you get FloFX's screwless grate look on the drain you already have. An adapter kit that fits a standard FloFX grate to a Schluter Kerdi® or Profilitec® bond flange drain. Verified from FloFX:

  • Purpose: Use any standard (not Tile-In) FloFX grate with a standard Schluter Kerdi® or Profilitec® bond flange drain
  • Patent-pending adjustment ring: A recessed area lets the grate sit lower — supporting mosaics as thin as 1/8" — while filling the adjustment gap for a flat transition
  • Weep channels: The underside of the ring drains water off the waterproofing membrane
  • Grate riser: Sets and fine-tunes grate height
  • Temporary install plate: Keeps the opening clean during install — tile and grout first, then add the grate
  • Not required for the FloFX Universal Bond Flange Kit; comes included with the Traditional Round Bond Flange Kit
  • Not compatible with the Schluter residential adapter kit

FloFX Grate Install Kit — Put a FloFX Grate on the Drain You Already Have

Maybe the drain body is already in and waterproofed — a Schluter Kerdi® or Profilitec® bond flange — but the builder-grade grate that came with it doesn't match the fixtures or the finish the client picked. You don't have to live with it. The FloFX Grate Install Kit adapts any standard FloFX grate to a standard Schluter Kerdi® or Profilitec® bond flange drain, so you get FloFX's solid, screwless grate look without swapping the drain.

The heart of the kit is a patent-pending adjustment ring with a recessed area that lets the grate drop lower — enough to set mosaics as thin as 1/8" flush — while filling the adjustment gap and giving small mosaics a flat, sag-free transition around the drain. Weep channels on the underside keep water draining off the waterproofing membrane. A grate riser dials in the final height, and a temporary install plate keeps the opening clean and the grate protected so you can tile and grout first, then drop in the grate whenever the floor's done. Pair it with an X Factor or Classic 2 grate to finish the look.

Two things to know before you buy: this kit is for standard FloFX grates (not the Tile-In grate), and it's not compatible with the Schluter residential adapter kit. And if your drain is a FloFX Universal or Traditional kit, you don't need this at all — the Universal has its own grate carrier system, and the Traditional already includes these components.

Pro tip: Dry-fit the grate and ring first and note the rotation, then bed the adjustment ring in thinset (recess about half full, none in the drain) and set the riser about 1/8" proud of your tile so you have room to bring it down flush.
