The mixing valve leaves the largest single opening in a shower wall — a big cut-out around the valve body that's a prime path for water to get behind the membrane. Sealing it cleanly by hand is fiddly and easy to get wrong. The FloFX NoFlo Valve Seal is pre-formed for exactly this penetration, so the biggest hole in your waterproofing becomes a reliable, watertight detail.
It bonds into the membrane like the rest of the NoFlo system — fleece-backed, thinset-applied with full mortar transfer, lapped into the surrounding membrane — sealing around the valve body so water can't track behind the wall. It's the penetration companion to the NoFlo Pipe Seal: one handles pipes, this one handles the valve.
Use it with the NoFlo membrane and banding, tied into a FloFX bond-flange drain, for a shower that's waterproofed everywhere it counts — including the valve.
Pro tip: Lap the field membrane over the valve seal's flange so water sheds onto the lap, and work the thinset for full transfer with no voids around the valve body. Confirm the seal sits flat against the substrate before you set tile over it.
