Built-in niche lighting looks incredible — right up until the day the LED fails behind the tile and the only fix is demoing the wall. Illuminiche is the original tile-ready, pre-lit LED niche engineered to kill that risk. A patented magnetic coupling lets the COB LED channel lift straight out from the front for service or replacement — no tools, no tile removal, no demolition — so you get the high-end integrated glow without the tear-out waiting down the road.
It ships as a complete 24-volt system. The included INSWITCHII 24V 60W dimmer/driver is an all-in-one unit that installs in a standard wall switch box, so there's no remote driver buried in an attic, and it handles power, on/off, and smooth dimming from one device (choose a face-plate color to match the room). UL-listed 22/2 low-voltage wire with an IP67 color-coded quick-connect harness ties the niche to the driver with no soldering. The light itself comes from cut-anywhere COB LEDs that give an even, hot-spot-free glow rated up to 100,000 hours, in your choice of three color temperatures — 2700K warm, 3000K soft white, or 4000K neutral white.
Underneath the good looks, it's built for the wall it lives in: a waterproof body of 1/2" high-density foam with a factory waterproof coating, IP67-rated and certified for wet areas. The tile-ready surface tiles over cleanly with ceramic, porcelain, stone, or glass, the slim 3.5" depth drops into standard 2×4 framing, and it works with the waterproofing systems you already run, including Schluter and Wedi. The install detail that makes serviceability possible is simple: tile is set with a precise 1/16" gap around the channel — free of thinset and grout — so the channel can be released anytime. It's made in the USA, comes in sizes from 13×13 up to 49×13 with adjustable-shelf options, and its warranty runs on the included INSWITCHII switch.
Complete the system: extend the glow beyond the niche with matching dry-area (IP20) and wet-area (IP67) LED light channels, add a 13" LED shelf, or pull extra low-voltage wire with the IP67 harness for longer runs. Supplying your own 24V driver or running a junction-box setup? Choose the no-switch niche instead.
Pro tip: Plan the niche in at framing and run the low-voltage wire to the switch box before you tile. Set your tile with the 1/16" gap around the channel — no thinset or grout in that gap — so it stays serviceable, and match the color temperature to the room's other lighting. For steam showers, ask about the IP68-rated LED option.
