This is a solid upgrade from my previous tool, a Rubi TC-125. Some key differences that have impressed me:
More powerful 13a motor doesn’t lag like others. This is like the 13a makita I run in my Sigma Jolly: powerful and appropriate for the application
Better track is easier to connect, thicker gauge with better connections
Saw locks into track and can’t roll out
Superior suction cups and track fasteners to avoid seizing and stripping
Kaizen foam hard case and soft case superior
Comes with a couple decent blades
Locks on to significantly diminish fatigue and improve pace for delicate passes
Did not blow through the back of Dekton for mitered passes after crosscuts.
I did also notice a couple drawbacks: the depth set lock washer is a stupid nightmare designed to undo itself and is useless. Also I think I have an early generation without water port, but it doesn’t matter because I almost exclusively run it wet and just point a hydrotail into the dust collection port. The lock nut is also unusual, with two different gauges to accommodate blades of various thicknesses. I cut halfway through my first piece of Dekton before I realized what I was doing wrong. Make sure the set up is correct for your hardware, less vibration and seeing cleanliness through the bottom of the cut is a good sign you’re running correctly (obviously)
Overall I am very excited to have this tool. The drawbacks are small details and I don’t rely on those features anyway. The price is relatively expensive, but the value is there. When using in coordination with hydrotail, it is worlds better than using a tc-125 and pump/buckets. Looking forward to working with this tool.
