An impact-sound floor is only as quiet as its perimeter. Where the floor meets the walls, any bedding mortar that touches the wall creates a rigid sound bridge — a direct path for footfall noise into the structure that quietly undoes the reduction the TRIBOARD board provides. TRIBOARD Corner Joint Tape closes that path around the entire room.
It's a wide 3-15/16" tape that wraps the floor-to-wall transition and corner areas, keeping the uncoupling and impact-sound layer continuous right up to the perimeter and blocking mortar from bridging to the wall. It's embedded in the tile adhesive as you install, so it locks into the assembly rather than sitting loose, and a 49.2 ft roll covers the perimeter of a typical room.
Run it along the straight walls, tie it into the pre-formed corners at inside and outside corners, and seal the field seams with the self-adhesive joint tape — the full accessory set that makes the TRIBOARD board perform to its 17 dB rating.
Pro tip: Turn the tape up the wall slightly at the perimeter and keep bedding mortar from spanning between the floor field and the wall — that clean separation at the edge is what preserves the impact-sound rating across the whole floor.
