Every seam between two TRIBOARD panels is two things at once: a break in the continuous uncoupling layer, and an opening where bedding mortar can drop into the joint and touch the substrate — a sound bridge that quietly hands footfall noise back to the floor below. This self-adhesive joint tape closes both problems in one pass.
Peel it, stick it down the board-to-board butt joints, and the uncoupling and impact-sound layer stays continuous across the whole field — with no gaps for mortar to bridge through. Being self-adhesive, it goes down fast and clean over the long straight seams, no adhesive to spread. At 1-1/2" wide and 98.4 ft per roll, one roll covers a lot of seams.
It's the field-seam half of the TRIBOARD accessory system: use it over the TRIBOARD board seams, then handle the perimeter with the corner joint tape and the pre-formed corners.
Pro tip: Press the tape down firmly along the full length of each seam so it's fully bonded before you trowel adhesive over it — a lifted edge lets mortar under the tape, which is exactly the bridge you're trying to prevent.
